Gateway Login required to access Broadband
My broadband stopped working suddenly.
While trying to reconnect to the network it shows me a screen for Gateway Login.
I don't have any credentials to login into that screen.
Please help me fix this issue.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
@SahilSpriha it is unlikely you can do anything by logging into your Sky hub's interface if the unit has lost connection somcheck the indicator lights on the hub this guidecwill tell you what they mean https://www.sky.com/help/articles/hub-lights-explained-start
If in the future you do need to get into the hub's interface to change a setting the user isxalways admin but tge password is either sky or the Wifi passcode on the hub's label depending on which model you have.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
Thank you for your response. I was able to login, but still no internet.
Could you please suggest what to do to get the internet back?

@SahilSpriha as I posted look at the lights on the hub and follow the link I posted of what they mean and what to do. In summary if the internet led is amber call Sky and report thr fault.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
I am trying to update my Sky wifi to my Arlo devices which require 2.4GHz but I am on 5GHz. I read somewhere that I need to put this 192.168.0.1 on the browser and change the setting there.
But I was asked to enter Gateway ID as below - I tried my router SSID and Wifi Name and Password but it doesnt work. Please help

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
@Ann306 you have the white Sky Max hub which is different from older models. First point you control thst unit's settings in the My Sky app not in thecweb interface. Second point is unlike other hubs you cannot split the two wifi bands.
Instead the recommended procedure to link devices thst will not link to the hub's wifi is to go into the Wifi Max hub settings in the app and click on the button at the bottom of the page which opens a number of options including disable wifi. on thst page click to turn off tge 5GHz band. Exit the page oncectge hub is nack up connect the Arlo device. Tgen repeat the process and turn the 5GHz wifi back on. Your device should stay connected.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
Dear Chrisee,
Now that my Arlo devices are running well under 2.4gHZ band and I tried to log into my Sky App to turn on the 5gHZ. It does not allow the turn on button.
Any idea on how to sort this out?
Thank you for your help so far.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
I sure hope you have a remedy already. Just to explain, in the default mode the Sky Hub broadcasts both 5GHz and 2.4GHz at once under a single network name.
Historically, because 2.4GHz travels further distance as it penetrates materials better (e.g. bricks / concrete etc), devices would almost always go into 2.4GHz when 5GHz was named the same, because devices choose the network with strongest signal. Whilst 2.4GHz travels further, it's an older technology that is typically around 10x slower than the theoretical max speed of 5GHz. Hence, people often had different names for 2.4GHz and 5GHz so they could ensure 5GHz connection.
Since SkyQ launch and the Hub 3 where Airties was deployed for the SkyQ mesh, the routers have been smart enough to mitigate this via Band Steering. When a device connects to the Sky hub it indicates capability e.g. it says "I can do 5GHz and 2.4GHz and I have good signal." In this case, the Sky Hub blocks the device entering the 2.4GHz signal even if it tries, this forces devices into 5GHz. If after a period of time, these devices do not show up on 5GHz, indeed the Sky Hub will let them into 2.4GHz (eventually). If signal becomes poor on 5GHz, the Sky Hub will handle a transition to 2.4GHz, and handhold the device as it moves over.
In the case of your Arlo cameras, they are 2.4GHz only. Hence they should begin connecting to the Sky Hub, and indicate they are 2.4GHz only devices. Here, the Sky Hub will allow them into the 2.4GHz network no problem, always and forever. There should be no reason for 5GHz to be disabled.
What seems to have happened here is the Arlo app performs a check on the mobile that looks at the network name, and wireless band the phone is connected too. If the phones on 5GHz, the Arlo app stops you continuing because the Arlo cameras it thinks cannot connect to this 5GHz network. This is the most dumb and illogical programming, as it basically ignores any notion of "dual band" networks. Due to the prevelance of band steering, 8 in 10 devices in use today, that are issued by UK ISPs are dual band with band steering. They all have a single network name, operating on both bands at once. The last major device issued by the most prevelant major mass market ISPs that split 2.4 and 5GHz was the Virgin Superhub 2 AC released 2015 (9 years ago).
If the Arlo just took the network name and password and tried to connect, it would do so just fine. There should be no requirement for your phone to be on 2.4GHz, for the Arlo to process and try a network name / password. It's ridiculous.
Anyway, if the sky portal is not providing ability to re-enable 5GHz band - holding the reset on the back of the sky hub should revert it to initial setup. Assuming you are using default name/PW, everything will connect back just fine (even the Arlo's as they're now in receipt of the network name and PW). If you're able, raise feedback into Arlo they are a big US company. This should not be how their app logic is programmed.

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
@inferiorsbeware thanks for posting you are of course correct. It puzzles me why so many manufacturers of IOT kit persist in not supporting dualband SSIDs its not that they are new. You can perhaps forgive no-name cheap junk but not brand names.
To add the white Sky Max hub offers WiFi6 speeds which uses both bands so if the hub allowed band splitting that extra speed would be lost confusing people so I suspect that is why Sky/Comcast have not offered that option. A lot of other WiFi6 routers are the same
The switch to turn on the 5GHz band is in the same place in the My Sky app in the Sky Max hub settings advanced section where you turn off the 5GHz band but perhaps misleadingly labelled "Disable WiFi"

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
I am actually not sure if the issue is anything to do with the bands, to be honest. Think about it. If the Arlo device only scans 2.4GHz, it has no knowledge of 5GHz or it's networks. Therefore having the same network name on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz should not confuse the Arlo device. It cannot even scan for the network on the 5GHz band, so it only ever sees a single network on 2.4GHz, even after the 5GHz network is renamed.
It's like saying, I have a light in my back garden. My neighbour adds a second light in their garden, however I cannot see it due to it being in a place that I cannot see. I am not informed about the second light, I have no knowledge it is there. Of course, my light must break, unlesss the neighbouring light is differentiated from my own, say, enforcing their light is a shade of purple, lets say Magenta. This is the same conclusion being made about turning on a 5GHz network, that is invisible to the devices it's apparently confusing??
Out of interest, could the Arlo device even detect the network in the list when scanning? If not, it feels much more like the camera is not updated to know about the WiFi 6 standard (release 5 years ago), and hence, doesn't know a network showing "AX" is indeed even a WiFi.
Else, it could be the security mode is newer than the device supports (again, for an American mass-market camera company, this really sucks). Lets not forget that Arlo sold these things as being a device we would keep for decades, not worrying about monthly subs. *& then did a u-turn* 🙂
I just posted this on a similar post regarding a Canon printer 🙂

Re: Gateway Login required to access Broadband
I saw here info on WiFi security level. Suspect changing to WPA2 may remedy a lot of these issues.
