Game Consoles and PC suddenly cannot get online despite being connected.

In short our XBOX Series X, PS5 and Desktop PC can no longer get online despite being connected to our Sky Max Hub and every other device in the house working fine (Echo, Mobiles, Firestick etc.).

We had this exact issue with BT Broadband last year and switched to Sky Broadband as every "fix" didn't work and even an engineer visit from BT didn't fix the issue. Now it is happening again with Sky!

We've done all the normal steps (Factory Reset, Port Forwarding) but this has not resulted in any positive results. The XBOX tends to work very briefly after a reset of the Hub but goes back to not connecting to the internet. The Desktop isn't having any of it sadly.

@mrcube checknthe settings for Broadband Shield in the My Sky app as they can block online gaming if set too low.

This hasn't been changed and is still set to 18+.

We have just had the exact same issue sort this evening. Kids were gaming earlier today with no issues, but this evening cannot get on.

@mrcube Arethe devices that play up connected directly to the Sky hub or are they connected via a switch or booster? The fact you had a similar issue last year with BT and it isn't the Shield it could be a network issue blocking communication. It is likely that you can rule out the hub as other devices connect normally. It is certainly strange

Re: Game Consoles and PC suddenly cannot get online despite being connected.

We had the exact same issue with devices being kicked off.  Changing the security on the hub to WPA2 helped with all of the device being able to connect apart from the Xbox series X, which wasn't connecting to the internet at all, no matter how much we changed ports or other settings.

Buying this was a game changer:

TP-Link WiFi Extender Booster,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RB743K8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The Xbox connects great to the internet through the 5ghz WiFi from this extender and still gets 150mbs from it.
