Hi,
we were told in August full fibre broadband was available at the property we were about to move into. We were supposed to be set up on 26th August but told the day before there was an issue with OpenReach.
It's now 3 months later and still no internet, Sky are blaming OpenReach saying they are waiting an engineer to do some work. Have complained to Sky so many times they now ignore my emails! Tried complaining to OpenReach via Twitter (which seems the only way to contact them) and they just said it's for Sky to sort out.
Sky have also said since we placed the order the old copper line has been deactivated to we can't even have the old internet the previous occupants had. We have no internet so can't use our smart meter, 3 Sky Q boxes which are useless and having to work in the office every day as can't work from home.
Sky can't even tell us what the average or max wait is so we are stuck in eternal limbo of no internet!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThere have been several similar posts recently: this appears to be a significant flaw in the Home Move process. An ISP won't order FTTC even on a temporary basis to a property where FTTP is available in the area (because that duplicates the installation fee they are charged by Openreach), but this takes no account of FTTP installation delays which are both entirely possible and sometimes very prolonged.

Has this been resolved?

No still no internet. Was told before Xmas that we were booked for installation on 16th Jan. Took the day off work and waited and waited but nobody came. Phoned Sky and they said BT had moved appt to Feb 17th without telling us!
Needless to say will not be booking another day off work.

Hi there, thanks so much for the swift response, very much appreciated. That is so annoying, taking a day off and then not being advised of a change in the date. We were told in November that they would be coming tomorrow, then this morning, I got a text saying they are looking forward to installing it for us on the 28th of February, even though, I have been receiving (and confirming) texts from BT Openreach saying that they are coming on the 8th.
I have me Sky who were lovely and polite and said that they will raise an urgent query, but, based on previous experience, I am not sure that it will guarantee anything. Am getting an update in 48 hours.
