Full fibre broadband stopped sorking overnight

Since we had the full fibre installed in January it has been really slow. Got up this morning and it is not working. Checked the cables, followed the advice on the sky broadband site and still no broadband.

The PON light is red. It's only been installed a month and really not happy. Now I am being told we need an engineer to visit. Seriously wished we'd never upgraded.

Is there nothing that can be done without an engineer so we don't have to take time off work!!

@Rae81 thecred PON light means tge ONT has lost the optical signal from the exchange. This requires Openreach to check the connection from the exchange. The engineer will only need access to your property if the fault is traced to the ONT unit. As a quick check ensure the fibre cable is plugged in to the unit if they have been knocked they can become lose but be gentle and dont unplug it if. It looks to be OK.

Thanks for your reply @Chrisee . I have triple checked all cables and all are secure. This couldn't have happened at a worse time as I'm currently midway through my dissertation.  You don't realise how much you rely on the Internet until you don't have it 🤦‍♀️😆

@Rae81 there is a law of the universe which covers things happening at the worse time. This may get  sorted quickly but I would plan on being without a service for 3 days.
