Fttp broadband Sky max hub not working, how to set up a 3rd party router?
I have fftp ultrafast broadband, it was supposed to be activated 28/06. I've been on the phone with Sky for hours almost everyday and they've been absolutely useless.
The ONT box is working properly with the correct green lights, yes Sky's Max Hub is not working, just shows red light. I've been through all the troubleshooting procedures on the phone, nothing works, thry arranged for an engineer to visit twice but both times they didn't show up. Today they're saying they can't send an engineer because the line is working fine and reaching inside the house, yet the Sky hub is still showing red light.
Has anyone had this problem? I'm going crazy and honestly thinking of just moving provider because of the awful service.
Can I use a tp-link AC1200 router to test if fttp is actually working? How to set up that specific router for that?

Re: Fttp broadband Sky max hub not working, how to set up a 3rd party router?
@Som3a67 this type of fault is quite rare and normally is to do with a mis-identification of the ONT. As the error can be at Sky's end or by Openreach you can get, as you seem to be, a position where each blame the other.
To explain the full fibre system Openreach uses carries the data for up to 32 users to every ONT connected to that distrbution point. The ONT is programmed to only pass on the dats for your connection normally done by scanning the bar codecon the label during the install. Where for some reason thst process goes wrong either because Sky gave Openreach the wrong info or Openreach screwed up the ONT is not getting the data for your account so the hub cannot authenticate the connection.
I am escalating your post to the Sky team who support the forum who should be in touch soon to offer you a private chat session hopefully to get this escalated to the guys who can get this sorted. Keep an eye onnthe forum as if you miss the message just click the chat icon which will be added to the forum pages for you to use.saving a long phone call.
