From BT900 to Sky 900
I'm out of contract with BT and thinking about moving to Sky. When I set up the order without signing in (I've got sky tv) I get offered the new Sky Max hub, but when I sign in and set up the order it doesn't give me that option! Just the old sky hub. Has anyone moved to sky from another provider using your current or previous sky sign in details and managed to get the new router ?

If you have sky q as your tv service then the max hub is currently not available to order with that setup

Re: From BT900 to Sky 900
@jimmyb0 there is no choice of Sky hub but most new services will get the SR203 Sky Broadband hub which is required where the voice service uses the router rsther than plugging into a phone socket. Given that Openreach are no longer accepting orders for copper phone lines this is the normal offering. All full fibre services get tge SR203 by default.
If for some reason your exchange is not supporting the new voise lines you may get the older flat er115 Sky Q hub but these are only sent out rarely these days. There is no significant differences in performance or features as they both mode;s run very similar firmware although the SR203 does have slightly better wifi.
If you opt for the Broadband Boost bundle at £5 per month you always get the SR203 and access to a free booster if required to get a ninimum of 4Mb/s in every room. There is a new bundle currently costing £7.50 a month called Wifi Max this gets you the newset hub, the white SR213, which offers faster wifi6 for devices thst support it and the latest WPA3 security again for devices that support that. If you need boosters you can get up to 3 free pod extenders if an engineer agrees they are necessary after a visit.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Yes, because Sky currently will not supply Max to an address with a Sky Q subscription using Q Mini boxes, as there appears to be an ongoing incompatibility between the rather antique 'mesh' network generated by Sky Q hardware and the much more modern one which Max creates.
