For the past month my internet is dropping out continually

My internet is used for me to work at home. For the past month at least it keeps completely dropping out and is almost non existent. As you can imagine this is causing issues when I work and a few people in the same street are also having issues so it's not just me.

I'm in fibre, and I too have this issue - the lights on the modem all go out, and for 2/3 minutes they eventually come back on and the internet resumes.

 

I have had this issue for months, and when I call I get fobbed off by telling me I have wifi issues - I do when there is no internet to use them with!

 

What do I need to do in order to persuade Sky that I am having these issues? I haev seerla dated photos of the modem with no lights.

 

Running the conmnection checker once it is back is not exactly helpful.

@WindowFinn_  If the router is basically re-booting of its own accord then there is something going on. The service checker when you look is taking into account historical data and the broadband test needs to be ran. If you take a video of it happening these can be posted on the thread.

Based on the log, (which I cant paste, thanks Sky), it does look like it is restarting as the date starts off as the epoch, and then eventually connects to the NTP server - the photo I have shows all the lights off bar power @ 14:34 which matches the time once connected to the NPT (ignoring BST).

 

So what do I do? Faulty Modem?

@WindowFinn_  Take a screenshot of the sys log showing this and if you can the router stats also should show what happened with a picture of the lights on the router.

This is my issue, I keep doing a test and it's saying it's ok yet the WiFi symbol on my laptop tells me a very different story. It's not the service we pay for that's for certain

@WindowFinn_  Looks like the router is re-booting itself showing the date from 70's. Does the power light go red?

Not that I am aware of. I have only noticed it with the power light green, and all the rest are out.

@WindowFinn_  If they are going out sounds like it is power cycling, normally if it is just the internet the internet light goes out and the voice light goes amber.

Ok, Do you have any advice on what to do next?

 

Its not like I'm having power issues at home, my PC is still working when my Zoom drops, hence I know its dropped. It happens at least once a week, possibly more as I only work from home Mon/Tue when I notice.

 

I appreicate the assitance.
