Hi all,
I have had a flashing green PON light on my ONT since Saturday afternoon which means no internet and no amount of trouble shooting seems to have gotten the issue fixed. I have spoken to Sky and booked an engineer for Tuesday but I am back to work then too and the mobile signal in my property isn't great so hotspotting isn't ideal.
I have checked these forums and online and it seems to indicate that if I have a flashing green light under PON on the ONT it seems to be some issue on the openreach end and was hoping anyone here might be able to help?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@MK23 apart from power cycling and checking that the fibre lead is securely connected there is nothing more end users can do. The flashing green PON light is normally only seen while the ONT is connecting ie finding the data stream addressed to your unit. A fault at the exchange in the unit that creates the optical signal could cause this issue as could a faulty ONT.
Unfortunately this something Openreach will have to fix and they have a 2 working day fix time for domestic faults. Hopefully the 3/1 date works but dont bet on it after the holiday as working from home gives you no priority.

@Chrisee Right got that. My point is, could the issue be raised with openreach before the engineer comes round so I can get the issue sorted faster

When you raised the issue with the sky advisor, they Should have and hopefully documented your
details of fault, which passed on to the OR engineer he should be fully aware of what the fault is
if not then he has to have a starting point and you never know, it maybe your ONT..

Just got a call from the engineer, he said the fault is outside the property and that it is a damaged cable and it's been reported etc. Bad news is he is saying it won't be fixed today and it's potentially going to be one that will get fixed by the end of the week. It's impacting 30 or so other properties too
