Flashing Green PON light, No light under Alarm

We have been without wifi (Fibre) for 3 weeks now. Non stop calls to sky and they keep giving us days for updates however they are all the same generic replies.

Has anyone else had this issue where the ONT is Flashing Green PON light, No light under Alarm?

The ONT hasn't been provisioned correctly by Openreach. Basically either the wrong serial number has been recorded or the optical fibre entering your property has been connected to the wrong SASA.

If you watch the ONT then is every 14th flash a split second longer than the others? If so then the fibre has been connected to the wrong SASA.

Either way it requires Sky to sort it out with Openreach.

Pretty poor if Sky can't understand that.

Then there's a fault at the SASA or head-end in the exchange.

Still requires Sky to sort it out with Openreach and they SHOULD know that. This is basic stuff.

Make sure you claim your compensation, should be upwards of £120 by now....

They claim there is an issue with the splitter which in that case it would be 32 people without fibre however I found out about this stupid issue by doing my own research.

I am guessing its not possible to fix this myself

Re: Flashing Green PON light, No light under Alarm

Well you didn't say that at the start of the thread did you?

The SASA is the splitter array sub assembly and if that's faulty then yes there could be up to 32 premises without service - undoubtably not all Sky subscribers. Could be a lot less depending on the fault.

Openreach should have given Sky an estimated time to repair long before now. Have they given you any indication as to when they expect they can restore your service?

This is nothing anyone other than Openreach can fix.

Re: Flashing Green PON light, No light under Alarm

You might want to remind them that (assuming you've been offline for 21 days and reported it on day 1) you're currently entitled to 21 x £8.40 (£176.40) and increasing at £8.40/day in compensation....

I doubt it'll do any good but it might encourage someone to prod Openreach and enquire what's going on 🙂
