Fibre upgrade in my area, I have been advised by BT to request that you switch me to the new fibre

Openreach fibre has recently been upgraded in my area and the BT engineer suggested I contact you to make sure my broadband is now running on the upgraded fibre cables.  Please would you advise

That's not really how the FTTP rollout works: typically each householder needs to place an order for a new (and usually faster) broadband service and then the ISP books the necessary work from Openreach (not 'BT' in this context).  There's some proactive switching (where the ISP contacts existing users) but this is still relatively rare.
