Fibre speed has halved in last few days - Any ideas?
So my fibre speed is usually steady at 72/73mb download. 4 out of the 5 days is is now down to 36mb.
The sky website confirms this looking at the speed history over the last month.
However the stats on my sky hub are reporting 78mb, so why am i only getting 38mb?
Any ideas?, i have booked a sky engineer to come out..

@Peter+Luffrum The stats show your hubis connected at over 78Mb/s but given the hub restarted half an hour before they dont tell us much. Speed tests over a proven fast link like ethernet should givecspeeds around 70Mb/s but if you are measuring speeds over WiFi you are almost cetainly just measuring the spedd from the hub to your device. WiFi speeds do vary due to interference.

Hi, thanks.
Yes i rebooted the hub just to see if that would help.
Could it be the router? I do have a spare so may try it.

@Peter+Luffrum worth a try but unlikely to help as hub's tend to fail totally rather then just slow down.

Ok, understand. I have plugged in using an ethernet and i am still only getting 38mb, despite the router stats showing 78mb.
So i am none the wiser at the moment.

Swapped out the router and speed back up to 70+.
Noticed similar threads on here noting that speeds dropped to the 38mb mark and was fixed immediately by disconnecting and reconnecting via the hub, but this only resolved the issue for around 24-48 hours before dropping back to 38mb.
Seems to be a problem that lots have other have had too.
