Fibre installed but lack of land line

Today Sky engineer ( great Guy ) installed fibre broadband, used Sky Copper up till today.

But, why is there always but ? the hub shows 4 green light , sadly no fibre phone line ? It is now plugged back in old copper box.

why can't the whole job Work at the same time.

Engineer said it could take 24hrs, the job was booked a month ago ? Why should there be any delay?

Your phone should now be plugged into the phone socket on the back of the sky hub

That appears to be intrinsic to the fundamental change in technology.  Installing a new fibre circuit is actually rather more straightforward than porting over what's essentially an Edwardian voice service.
