Fibre installation needs to be re-scheduled is there is house work?

Hello,

I have a slot this tuesday for a fibre install on my property, but I have just had a text from openreach saying that if I am having work done on the house I need to re-schedule.

This is the first time I have heard of this and it is too late for me to cancel my slot because I had to book time off from work.

What extent does 'home improvements' go to?

I am currently getting a kitchen fitted and a new floor needs putting in but not in progress.  Can anyone clarify? Thank you

Openreach should only be concerned about work which might directly hinder their successful installation (such as having no mains electricity) or which could disrupt the fibre optic cable after it was put in place.

I suspect that's just a generic clause because trying to carry out a fibre-optic installation in the middle of an active building site isn't exactly ideal.
