I'd also take a look at the difference in the upstream noise margin from before, its. gone up by about 8dB, so much noise previously from 8.55Mhz to 11.95Mhz.Smiley Very Happy

I've also noticed that the upstream noise margin has taken a massive dip

It's almost like the DSLAM in the cabinet is going crazy. If is almost as if components or a dry joint on the board or filters and chips doing the frontend in the cabinet DSLAM that was faulty?

The frontend on the DSLAM is split up feeding each line individually through filter circuit chips internally. They are not going to replace to component level, but:-

 

 Sky cannot see line drops or errors running on the line and neither could this BT Openreach engineer?

 

It's going to. need another engineer, and they hopefully will come to the same conclusion replacing the board next, but it will need to get much worse and it looks like it's moving in that direction for we wish it to fail completely. That will be easy to find, intermittently dropping the line with noise margin jumping around like crazy isn't enough to make it easy.

Correct, the only time Sky or Openreach see line drops is when I manually unplug the router or telephone line. If the router drops the connection on its down nobody sees a line drop.

 

I would actually prefer the line to fail completely at this point and then get fixed for good Smiley Happy

Left it a week and now seems to be better again. Bit confused as to why its so random.

Remember I did state keep an eye on the weather for it may be related to that fact. Hot weather would clear any damp connections or water that has penetrated the end of cables, etc...

Well @mae-3 it didnt stay stable for long.

Ended up booking another engineer who has visited today. Was two of them who turned up actually, both really friendly and helpful. 

Anyway long story short they sorted an issue with one of the cables feeding the master socket as apparently it was throwing 5000 errors a min and also installed a data extender on my DSL cable so I didnt have to run it across the room. 

Current stats are as follows, now just have to wait and see if this has fixed it...

Thats what I was thinking. I am thankful that they actually found something wrong and it for once wasnt just me looking like a fool!!

Well I think we can offically say problem solved, line is hardly dropping now, only for DLM. Also speeds are well up on ethernet now, about 75mbps.
