Hi, fibre has just arrived in my area. I'm going to be able o receive minimum speeds of 500mbps.
I'm tempted as a sky customer to add broadband to my package, but Eir sales ( my current broadband provider) has said that Eir Fibre Broadband will be faster than Sky Broadband!
I was under the impression that speeds from all suppliers would be the same across the board under the NBI network??
Looking for advice please?

If regulation in the Republic is the same as the UK (and I suspect it's very similar) then EIR as an ISP has exactly the same access to the wholesale bandwidth market as Sky.
ISPs can choose to supply broadband with, for example, a lower contention ratio, but they generally don't on domestic broadband because it would make their customer-facing prices uncompetitive.

Have you tried the availibility checker?

That should tell you what they can offer.
