FTTP

Hi, hoping someone here can help me beyond telling me to contact openreach!

Both of my immediate neighbours, and their neighbours etc, on each side of my house have FTTP and we all use the same cabinet. Each house is just 3-4 metres distance from mine. However, openreach website check states that I can't get FTTP yet but due to be installed in about a year's time!

This makes no sense to me. I've written to openreach and they just respond with standard wording that it will arrive in due course. I wrote back to explain the above points but they just come back with the same.

How do I resolve this? It just seems to be a recording error as makes no sense. I appreciate any advice and to understand if sky can do anything to help.

Thanks!

Re: FTTP

First things first. FTTP does not use a cabinet so its irrelevant what cabinet you're connected to.

Second : what does https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL say when you put your full address in.

Third : what does https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL say when you put your neighbours addresses in.

Sky won't be able to "resolve this" but depending on what the checker says an email to the right preson in BT might.....

Re: FTTP

Thanks for the swift response and for your help. Please see attached images below. I hope they are clear enough. Mine says no FTTP and neighbours say available.

Its possible you are connected to a different pole or underground distribution point compared to your neighbours, it does happen. If this is the case its likely Openreach have decided to delay deployment of FTTP to your paticular pole/DP.

Re: FTTP

That looks like a database issue given the neighbour you show hasn't got FTTP but it is available. That means the 32 port CBT isn't fully populated so there is actually a FTTP connection available.

Go post this on www.thinkbroadband.com forums (General discussion - Fibre Broadband) and show the same details. Someone will give you an email address which will get you to the BT CEO escalation team who normally sort this out inside a couple of weeks.

Sky aren't happy with anyone posting that email address.
