After moving to gigafast a few months back upload speeds have stayed at 20mb/s. I know it's an average of 90mb/s but is there a minimum? Done all the ONT reboots etc

Are you testing with a device connected via ethernet?

Yes Cat6A ethernet with 1000FDX hard set.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDid you try switching your Sky hub off for 30mins as this will fetch you a new public IP which may also modify your route through Skys servers and fix the low throughput.

Yes have tried many switch offs and reboots. Have changed just this week from 92.x.x.x to a 5.x x x

If you are not getting the full download speed either then it may be a capacity issue which is the suspected reason Sky stopped selling Gigafast for now

Yes getting at least 700mb/s down sometimes more

Best thing you can do is just say your getting low upload speeds, they may say its not guaranteed which technically is correct but 20mbps is exceptionally low for Gigafast

They stated that network upgrades were required and put a temporary stop sell on it

A Sky Broadband spokesperson said:
“Providing a fast and reliable service is our number one priority. We are currently optimising our network and have temporarily paused new sales of Sky Broadband Gigafast while we do this. Existing Sky Broadband Gigafast customers are not impacted.”

So I have had to put the sky hub back in place, for them to able check the router logs, but as they don't guarantee upload speeds (not sure why not on FTTP??) they are pretty much saying tough !

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThat is unfortunately correct, Openreach dont guarantee upload speeds therefore no ISP using Openreach infrastructure guarantees it either.
