You will get nowhere with sky...they will get you to restart your hub which fixes it temporarily and that's enough for them to close the case. Or they will send you a new hub which doesn't solve the problem either.
i spoke to someone who works at sky retentions and they say sky know their hubs don't work with the ultrafast plus but they don't care. I swapped my hub for a unbiquiti UniFi Express router and I have never had the problem since. It's a shame they don't care to fix the issue with their hardware.

Restart didn't work.
He tried to run the test tool on his end and it wasn't doing it for him.
Thanks for the reply, I'll get one of those routers ordered 👍 I've been with sky just over a month now so unfortunately can't back out without paying the big termination charge

Sky still couldn't fix the problem we still had no internet, tv on second box or landline service after 12 days. They admitted it's a server issue but still couldn't fix it even going past stage 3 escalations.
so we left Sky for tv, landline and internet, With no charges for being still in contact and compensation for the days without internet as they were in breach of contract for not providing the service paying for.

@andy7262 they don't do nothing about it, they escalate it and give you a callback, and if it's been up a couple of days without any drops they close the case, your wasting your time, the channel keeps changing on mine from 36 to 44, pretty much halfing my bandwidth/speeds for any devices that are wireless the router they provide is absolutely useless once my contract is up in November I'll be looking elsewhere I hear Zen are pretty good for full fibre

100% the router mate, I'm not paying for a 3rd party router not when I'm already paying a small fortune a month for the broadband, you could try and cancel but I doubt that'll happen cause everything will be fine on there end

I was looking at Zen, very good on trustpilot there router is WiFi 6 also, so it'll be a better router altogether then Sky's and probably isn't limited to 2 channels on the 5ghz band, I'll see how I feel come November

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@andy7262 best advice is to power down the Sky hub for 60 minutes as thst should switch you from the dodgy port on the server which is connecting your service.
There are well over 100 of these servers around tge country and they handle many millions of customers at any one time so where faults do occur which take time to be fixed.

I gave up and bought a new Asus router. Was fed up of random items on the network being unavailable, and the annoying orange light issue.
As far as I know it hasn't dropped out since then and I've got WiFi 6 connection to mobile phone and laptop. I'd already moved my landline to VOIP so didn't need the phone option.

So your not using the sky router VoIP option ?

No, ported my number to Andrews and Arnold, £1.20 per month line rental. Already had a VOIP enabled phone plus I also get calls on my mobile using Linphone app.
No worries then if / when I change internet provider.
