FTP not working after upgrade to sky max

I believe SFTP uses a single port 22 whereas FTP uses two ports, 20 & 21. Maybe try opening port 22 in the router settings?

@nkendall yes i do believe it does use port 22, i will have to look into this. I did try opening the other ports when I had the initial problems, but I think I removed that before @jamesn123  answered my post on here.

Access denied would suggest server side issue rather than connection issue

@jamesn123  Good morning. The more I thought about it, both messages suggest the connection is being refused by the hosts server, so you are most likely spot on. I did raise a ticket with them, they are asking for some more information. I will have a look when i get back this afternoon. The thing that I can't my head around is what is different between what I am putting in to FTP Commander as opposed to the other apps.

The Hosting company came back to me, and they felt the password was corrupted, so simple solution was to change the password and try again, Well this did indeed work, using FileZilla on SFTP. Not tried any of the other ftp clients as of yet - might quit whilst I'm winning! Doesn't expalin why FTP Commander worked, but hey!
