@Jules70 you improvecthe WiFi network in your home. First while your hub does not need to becclosecto the ONT unit which you call a modem. The two are linked by a standard ethernet cable so if practical buy a longer cable and move the hub to a more central position. A simple cat5e Ethernet cable can be 100m long before you start to lose speed. Next make sure the hub's wifi is being blocked by where the hub is, just like a light the hub needs to be out in the open on a surface above obstructions like radiators.
You can by an add-on from Sky called WiFi Max which can get you up to 3 extender units although while Sky will provide one if you ask the other 2 are only provided if an engineer agrees after a site visit you need them to get a minimum of 25Mb/s in every room in the house that drops to 10Mb/s if you are not buying Ultrafast speeds. Your options are not limited to Sky's offerings I use a third party WiFi mesh system with 3 satellites to get decent WiFi speeds in my home (>200Mb/s) which paid for itself in just over a year
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
