Every time it rains harder than a drizzle, my internet drops
Every time it rains at my house & it's harder than drizzle my internet drops out & my job reboots.
not very helpful when both me & my husband work at home & we live in the UK...it rains a lot.
I just can't understand how we can get people into space, self driving cars yet we can't get stable internet in our homes when we have a drop of rain.

Mostly because FTTC broadband still uses low voltage electrical signalling over copper 'phone' cable to reach the subscription address, which is a technology from well over a century ago (nearly two centuries for the telegraph) and perhaps unsurprisingly was never intended to carry digital data. Analogue voice calling is hugely more tolerant of degraded line conditions than high speed internet access.
You'll need to persist with convincing Sky to book Openreach attendance to look at the line jointing or potential earthing faults: this may be easier if you trigger a line test during a wet period. The eventual full deployment of FTTP will consign this particular issue to history.
