Ethernet but don't want wifi

Hi all.

I have an unusual request. I’m looking at the superfast package from sky. I would like to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable to my laptop. However, and this is key, I want to be able to simultaneously turn the wireless (wifi) funcion off, so I am only getting internet through the ethernet cable and there is no wifi in the house.

Does anyone have knowledge or experience that this is definitely possible? Ive tried to talk to sky but they seem clueless.

Thanks in advance.

Yes this is possible.

With the older routers with Sky you can do it via the local web interface on the router.
With the newer Sky router I believe you can do it via the app settings.
