Engineer expects us to run an extension lead to the new fibre box
We have had the technician round today to fit the new fible boxes but he insisted to my wife that it will hve to be fitted in the porch and we would have to run an extention lead to the box. Surely this isnt the norm... We have given him an area near our side patio doors that he can drill through and there are two sockets free to use but he said he cant do that. We have aranged for him to come back in a couple of weeks when I am home to sort this out but I wanted to know if these points ring true..
He is only allowed to drill through one wall (the patio option is only 1 wall).
He cant run wires through a boiler cupboard.
He cant fit it in the kitchen.
I feel like this installer just wanted an easy number and then to expect us to find a way of routing an extention lead through a wall.

Re: Engineer expects us to run an extension lead to the new fibre box
@Dan_B1 Take a look at the install OR video that will be at the bottom off the post, will give you an idea, but the ONT position is kind off not relevant to the installer, and yes easiest is best, but there are factored about the DELICATE fibre from the outside to the inside, both for protection and doing the job. Some installers are Very hard and fast this is the way i am going to do it, and no choice, some are yes good idea, lets just do it as you would like so bit off come/go with each other, mine is off the pole same as the copper cable right into the dormer i took care off everything OR Engineers where brilliant, but i did bin the M J Quinn installer Engineer 1st visit and cost me 21 day's delay, but not a clue, company line and NO thinking outside left/right off the box.
