Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
Hello, about to place an order for gigafast 900mb broadband on City fibre network. However I've not been able to find answers to some questions I have.
Am I able to connect my eero 6e pro directly to the ONT after initial setup/connection on skys router?
Also,Is the gigafast package on City Fibre Map-T (CGNAT)
any help would be much appreciated

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
Hello
Dont think Eeros can support the Sky Broadband connection (but stand to be corrected) by anyone who knows differently.
I recently moved to Sky from Talk Talk and had to connect the Sky Broardband router to the ONT and then my Eero 6 router to the Sky router via cable. Disabled the Sky Router wifi and left my Eero mesh with the old SSID so all my devices connected without any faffing about changing SSID/passwords.
Haven't had any trouble in the 3 or 4 weeks since I made the switch, streaming Netflix, live icehockey games etc.

Are you connected via city fibre or Openreach? Also have you tried to connect your Eero directly to the ONT to see what happens?

Sorry, forgot to include that.
I am connected via OpenReach so CityFibre may be different I guess....

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
I didn't even bother trying to connect the Eero directly to the ONT as everything on the Eero help pages told me it would not work

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
Thanks for this. I think a lot of the content is for people connecting on openreach network.
however I think I saw one post on cityfibres network where the guy said he'd connected directly to the ONT without any config to router.
I was hoping someone here could confirm this..

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
You may have to just try it if you decide to go with City Fibre/Sky but be prepared to have the Sky Router connected to the ONT if you can't get the Eero to work directly.
As you have found, there's not a lot out there relating to City Fibre v Openreach. Based on some of the technical data in the linked discussions i doubt Eeros can be configured to work currently.
good luck if you decide to go ahead, and let us know how you get on if you do 😃

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
@Tshah1 Well worth a try have my Asus connected on the OR ONT and NOT using any option 61 Mer as it is not needed, one change to the iPv6 to get that working from moving EE to Sky!
CF is so new to sky, but the connection is going to be very similar and Map-T is a sky Max hub only feature!

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
@Tshah1 if your eero supports DHCPv6 PD then it will connect to any Sky service via City Fibre as unlike Openreach 100% of lines offer this option. However I can not find any clear indication of whether eero does or does not offer support or how to configure custom options due to the extremly sparse documentation. Similar systems like TP-Link's Deco range will work
If the eero cannot be directly connected to the ONT it can be used behind the Sky hub in a double NAT configuration which will work for most uses without issue.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
I just found today that customers on Voda and Toob who use cityfibre network. Are able to directly connect thier own router to the ONT. My neighbours on voda has just confirmed.
Question is if sky would work differently? If so why?

Re: Eero pro 6e connect to ONT on Cityfibre.
@Tshah1 Each ISP has a different way for connecting, until you put your's on the CF ONT and connect to sky via it then there is just no way off knowing. EERO have **bleep** documentation so no help that way!
