Eero connection directly to ONT possible?

Hello , I have Sky FTTP, with a ONT box on the wall in the hallway.

I have bought an Eero 6+ and tried connecting this straight into the ONT with an ethernet cable, but get a 'can't reach the internet' warning when trying to get everything set up.

Am I doing something wrong, can the Eero not connect directly the the ONT so I can get rid of the sky black router?

thank you.

@sdhollings1981 there is slightly morecto getting a connection to work than just plugging it in as the router has to authenticate the connection. Sky use two main methods the first is DHCPv4 Option 61 which the Eero system doesn't support. On around 80% of connections you might get DHCPv6 PD to work if your Eero system can be conifigured to use that.

Re: Eero connection directly to ONT possible?

On my eero system I've not managed to find the DHCPv6 option so I have them plugged into the Sky router.

As I rarely use the landline, I'll migrate from Sky broadband once out of contract to one of the networks that will allow the eero to be connected directly. Could have done it now with the price rise but will wait until September.

BT/EE/Plusnet/Zen all are ok although for me BT/EE limit to 300mb line. Other providers are also fine but would need research berforehand.
