Download speed much slower than advertised

I upgraded my broadband due to speed and connectivity issues. Since the upgrade I am well below the 200-300 mbps that is advertised. The Openreach engineer also made a huge mess of the outside of my house for which I have made a separate complaint. Due to sky not giving what was promised I would like my contract cancelled. @ARobinson2025 It's all your choice to do so, but you need to call sky, posting on this Forum is not going to make it happen.

If you wish to see what sky has the service checker will show you the last 30 day's off history, that is what will be used.

@ARobinson2025 Been there myself. Provided it meets the criteria for falling below the guaranteed speed for a set period you should have no trouble ending the contract without a penalty fee. Did it myself last September and went to Vodafone who doubled my speed for almost the same price as Sky.

I've used a few providers over the years and Sky are easily the worst of them. Just pipping BT to last place!

@ARobinson2025 you can cancel for any reason without cost if you are in the cooling off periodof 31 days on a new service but you will have to call Sky. However note thst unless you have access to another cabled network or plan to use a mobile service any other ISPusing the same Openreach line will almost certainly  have the same issue.
