Do o need to be present for an engineer visit to connect sky

I have an engineer due Thursday for connection and was told on the telephone that I didn't need to be home, it was just a box fitted outside but in the confirmation text message it says someone over the age of 18 needs to be present.. which is it? I will be at work and have already been waiting nearly 2 weeks for the connection 🙃

Ideally an adult should be present in case some additional consent is required.  It's also more difficult to complain about problematic hardware location if there wasn't someone to supervise the work.
