Different speeds on devices

Hi all,

I had Sky Ultrafast 1 installed yesterday by Openreach. I've noticed that on my iphone I get the fast speed but on an android phone the speed is showing alot slower. It's also showing slow on a Windows laptop.

Is this normal or could there be something wrong with my broadband? I do use NordVPN if that matters but the fast speed still shows on iphone with VPN active.

Thanks.

That's entirely as expected, because all those devices will be built to different technical specifications and (particularly between laptop and phone) have different form factors which affect aerial layout.

In the same location in my house, my phone gets around 40Mbs and my Fire tablet about 180Mbs, both from 500Mbs FTTP.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Different speeds on devices

It could be the Android phone and Windows laptop have less WiFi antennae than the iPhone. The more antennae, the higher the throughout that can be achieved.
