Difference between sr203 and sr204

Hi whats the difference between the sr203 and sr204.

Cab the sr204 be used in normal beoadband as someone has given me an sr204 and it won't work on my broadband the internet light not light up I'm assuming the ar204 can only be used on certain packages

The SR204 has a G.fast modem built in, the SR203 is VDSL and can be used for FTTC or FTTP via the WAN port.


SR204 is used for Sky Ultrafast (1) with a max DL speed of circa 145 mb/s

So the sr204 won't work on a line that has 70mb download speed I just tried it too see if the signal was better

I suggest you give it back so that it can be returned to Sky: 203/204 Hubs are loaned to subscribers, not sold.

Anyone else know why it won't work I onky got it as my modem is the older one and this on ei was given they did not want back

As @Skull+Treaty said the SR204 is a G.Fast (Ultrafast 1) router and will not work with normal VDSL because the chipset is not backwardly compatible.

@Gibbo1471 also as @TimmyBGood mentioned the sr 203 and 204 routers are only loaned to customers so need to be returned to Sky so your friend needs to return the router to Sky or they will be charged for it. Even if they pay a late return charge the router is still the property of Sky and cannot be given away
