I have a Deco mesh system of xe75 pro and m5 nodes with sky broadband.
The puzzling thing is that the system is highly unstable/unusable when the Deco is set to AP mode but works fine in router mode. The WiFi on the sky router is turned off.
This seems to be against all the advice. Can anyone explain please?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@brentrobbo52 doubt its anything to do with your Sky Broadband but is more likely an issue around compatability between your TP-Link components so asking on the TP-Link community might get you an snswer.
My own 3 unit Deco system is totally stable in Access Point mode however in practice if router mode works having a set up with double network address translstion works for most apps.

I had this a few years ago, do you also have sky Q? Because the sky Q and deco where both creating mesh networks that interfered with each other causing the deco network to keep crashing.

Yes, I have Sky Q with 3 mini boxes, all of which are connected via Ethernet to deco nodes. The main Sky Q box isn't hard wired but is close to a node.
i have WiFi turned off on the Sky modem which is then connected by Ethernet to the main deco.
From what I understand, the deco mesh should then be in AP mode but it only works in WiFi router mode.
Strange!

Ye I think you have the same problem as I had we also had 3 sky minis, the reason it works when you set the deco into router mode is because it creates two separate networks that can not communicate with each other, that is stopping the crashes.
