Damage to my property by Opereach engineer

Openreach engineer attended to install Fibre broadband. Later in the day we found some of our house lights not working. Called an electrician who has told us wiring has been damaged when the engineer drilling through it. I can't get any help from Sky & no response/help from Openreach via Live chat or phone or email. Has anybody anything similar happen? Any advice please

@Moshan52  It's higly unlikely they would or could have drilled through a cable if they had done that at the time your electrics should have tripped out, did that happen?

Where they brought the cable in is there any electrical wiring in that location at all,,  the OR engineer would have checked with a cable finder tool.

The electrical cupboard is directly below where he has drilled in. The electrician has told us the wiring damaged is the neutral cable

@Moshan52  Do you have a report from the electrician?  If so I would try raising a complaint https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

@Moshan52 after my FTTP was installed by a company working for openreach I was not happy with the standard of the job as there was cable left  outside which was a trip hazzard for anyone in the house. I used the openreach chat to complain to openreach direct. FTTP was installed on the Monday afternoon I did the complaint on the Monday  afternoon I had another engineer out the Wednesday evening to sort out the propblem so the openreach chat does work but you have to be very specific about what you are complaining about

Re: Damage to my property by Opereach engineer

Thank you. I have finally received acknowledgment from Openreach about the issue so it's now progressing

Assuming you used the virtual assistant EiVA on this Openreach page;

https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/damage-health-and-safety

Use the flow with virtual assistant as; Damage, Health & Safety, then choose Damage to property, that brings up an email form.

I would add into the email, that you want a new Openreach visit to check and rectify, add the electricians report and in the email make a note for a request for compensation.

@PERTHPACK88

EE is a division of BT Group, not Sky.

As a general principle, cancellation makes achieving any reasonable solution and/or receiving compensation much more difficult.
