DNS

Hello all,

Simple query, I'd like to change the DNS server my Sky Hub dishes out to my devices but can't find this anywhere! Could someone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks.

Re: DNS

If you want to use a different DNS you need to do that on each device manually.

Re: DNS

Thanks for the replies however doing it per device is out of the question, does anyone know why this feature is disbabled?

In this case do Sky staff browse these boards or would it be best to get in touch seperately?

Re: DNS

Not sure why its disabled but it has been for a long time.

Sky staff wont usually reply on these boards, you can contact Sky if you like but I think you'll be wasting your time, its disabled in the firmware so they wont be able to change anything for you.

If you really desire to change the servers that much and dont wish to do it per device then I suggest you get a 3rd party router to connect to your Sky hub, you can then disable DHCP on the Sky router and configure the new router to dish out IPs as well as your chosen DNS server to use.

Re: DNS

Thanks very much for the response. Will install some custom firmeware instead and see how we go!

Cheers!
