DNS on Windows devices not working

Hi all - since getting Sky broadbnad a month ago I am having ongoing problems using my Windows 10 computers on the Sky wifi.

Both my personal Windows 10 laptop (ASUS) and work Windows 10 laptop (Dell XPS 15) cannot access websites using any web browser when connected to the Sky hub wifi. Chrome error is ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE. Also services such as dropbox running on Windows do not seem to be able to sync.

However, all other devices in the house (iPhones, MacBook Air, Samsung TV, Sonos speaker) do not have any issues.

Interestingly, when I connect to the house's wifi extender that has a different SSID, the problem does not happen. It's only when connected to the Sky Hub.

I've already tried:

- updating laptop drivers

- changing adapter settings via control panel to IPv4 and IPv6 DNS servers to Google's DNS

- flushing the DNS cache via command prompt

- Resetting the router by unplugging it

- Testing on different browsers on the laptops

Although sometimes the problem resolves itself, the next day when I go to use either Windows 10 laptop the problem has returned. I also cannot change adaptor settings on my work laptop and our IT company does not want to mess around "under the hood" with DNS...

I have seen other suggestions to unplug the Sky hub for half an hour to get a new IP address however this isn't a long-term solution - it would mean disrupting everyone elses' internet in the house every day! Frankly at this point I am considering cancelling my contract with Sky as I'm finding it's not fit for purpose.

@olivertedward

You cant claim its not fit for purpose if all other devices work fine because this proves its a problem with the devices or something you've done with the network.

Can you run a ping test & trace route on the laptop to see if its seeing the internet properly?

Also what is this WiFi extender you are talking about? Often 3rd party extenders can cause problems with Sky routers
