Could I change the place of broadband device?
I installed Sky broadband a month ago. The equipment is located inside the entrance of my home. The engineer told me that the coverage area is very extensive, so I don't need to use a wired connection. However, I have always found that the network is extremely unstable. For example, the latency in games suddenly surges to a very high level within one second, or web pages can't be opened and it takes a really long time for them to respond. This sometimes happens and it's truly unbearable. Moreover, it doesn't match what the engineer promised. I hope that using a wired connection on my PC can solve this problem. My PC is in the living room, so I can't use a wired connection to cross a door to connect to the broadband equipment. Therefore, I'd like to know if I can move my broadband equipment into the living room.

Re: Could I change the place of broadband device?
@Kuzac The information that you have posted is NOT sufficient enough for anyone to guess what you have and help with your solution.
If you have a FF full fibre connection, then Ethernet cable that goes to the Sky Router can be extended and you can with a longer cable move the router where you need it.
If this answer does not help, post and attach a picture using the camera icon below to the post.

You can't, no, but in theory both a master socket and an Openreach ONT can be relocated by their provider for a fee, as long as there's a suitable cable route. Typically this has to be external to the property rather than going through walls within it.
