Continuing adsl disconnects and reconnects

Broadband = Sky Broadband Unlimited

Router = ER115

Been having continuing disconnects and reconnects.

Have disconnected and reconnected all cabling and reset router.

Ran online tests - all report as good.

Phoned sky broadband support and was advised no faults found.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Well thats at least good newr re wbc fttp  There's no incentive for isp's to fix it as adsl2+ carries no guarantee and fttp is normally 10× more reliable than adsl.  Your noise margin is 0 db which means a bird on the wire would cause errors to get thru without any safeguards of a 3 db line

@DaFugly

Try running the line test here to see if any faults are found:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

If this is of no help give Sky a call to report it to them.

@DaFugly Also time to look at the free hub swapout if you have not already been notified.

Re: Continuing adsl disconnects and reconnects

@caesarome

As per post, all suggested steps previously completed (sky operator even offered to upgrade to FTP lol).

I know my stable router statistics normally show Connection Speed of 23999/1117, Line Attenuation of 16/11 and Noise Margin of 6/7.

The connection has now been stable for over 2 hours and numers read as per originally posted "screen capture"

Looks like "suck it and see" for the time being.

Many Thanks anyway...

Begs the question as to why i would suddenly have 0.0 downstream Noise Margin?

A cynic might say that that the isp trying to artificially make you speed faster so you don't fall below you guaranteed speed

However adsl doesn't carry a guarantee apart from the universal service obligation of 10Mbps,  the max speed gained by an adsl connection with 3db would be 24Mbps so all that caper wouldn't be worth the effort

More likely dodgy modem or a weird fault that lowers your noise margins instead of increasing them for stabilty.  Anyways since your current hub is obsolete from december just see how the new hub goes.  Unless you go for 1 Gbps fttp the new sr203 will be the one you get for full fibre and even then the sky max hub appear low in stock so you'd probably get that for gigabit .  At least you have the safety net of 40,80,100,150,300,500 Mbps or 1 Gbps
