Constant buffering on my phone & tv in the bedroom

It's taken over 2mins just to load the sky app on my phone, I took pics! The tv in the same bedroom is constantly buffering on and off, I left BT because of this but to be honest it was nowhere near as bad as this!!

 

Lastnight the hub went off completely and the box on the wall...for about a minute or so, before that the hub was going on and off with a green light coming and going in between the white light!

 

Again I've taken photos

@SGT8870 Is your sky Hub in the bedroom or somewhere else? It is not unusual for a single hub to get a wireless wi-fi signal everywhere needed in a home, for that reason alone there are multiple ways off adding and boosting needed signal, and as you had the same lack before then it's time to either boost or another method is moving the hub central to cover a wider located area either side!

The hub is downstairs and sky have already sent me a link to download an independent signal test that does each room you're in...as it's above 3meg  they wont send out any booster free...

 

as if 3meg is an acceptable level for each room for a guaranteed level🤬

@SGT8870 Are we sure about that 3Mb/s? As sky have 10Mb/s but going to do some further searching!

Hi, 

 

for what we need the 900meg was more than enough. We were with BT because at the time nobody guaranteed their WiFi but BT did,...we had the 75meg deal with them as they said 2027 before full fibre was available in our area!

 

Any to go from 70 to 900...I thought...wow it will be amazing! No more buffering and stalling to upload & download...the WiFi should be wayyyy better!

 

How wrong I was... if anything...the buffering is worse....and yes I've got the the Max added on as well

@SGT8870 Well the information you were given is all wrong as you are 25Mb/s all over so the told you wrong.

 

Anyhow you can take that up with them, as a side note the sky max hub, have a look at it with the app, there is a link below this, the security to that hub, dial it back to WPA2-PSK mode the WPA3-T causes a lot of wireless issues. The 5Ghz band is an Auto setting and nothing can be done with that, but it does like to channel way up the frequency and the higher it goes, the distance it reaches drops way back. Do check out the WPA mode if you can and adjust!

FF500 i have from sky, lowest so far in peak has been down at 200Mb/s, but that covers the home with adequate speed, i do not use any sky equipment anymore, retired it all back to there boxes, complete Asus user, so just do not have any issues that way! There is NO way to cover a home with ONE single hub and maintain a good steady wireless wi-fi system, takes a good powerfull hub to do that with many spider like aerials and that is just not for me, so use Asus AI mesh instead!
