Connecting TUF AX4200 WiFi 6 router

Good morning,

My wife bought me a TUF gaming AX4200 WiFi 6 router for Xmas and I have only just got around to setting it all up.

Although I have hit a problem that I can't seem to find a solution too.

When connecting all the cables to the router I get no Internet connection at all.

Yet, the same cables in the sky modem works fine.

However, if I run the cables first through the sky modem and then to the TUF router, I get Internet.

Problem is, I'm looking at having the Internet go straight from the wall jack directly to the TUF router, without going through the sky router.

Am I doing something wrong?

Is there an extra step or setting i should be implementing?

I've gone through the bios of the router and did a firmware update, as recommended by Asus and then restarted the modem, still nothing as a solo modem

Thanks in advance for the help

What configuration have you done? You cant just plug the cables into a 3rd party router and it work out of the box, ISP supplied routers come with the configuration hardcoded into them which is why they work out of the box.

Which type of connection do you have (FTTC or FTTP) as that will determine how you configure the router.
