Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
Hi, I am new to sky and only have just my broadband with sky. My issue is my son's pc and laptop says they are connected to the internet but when he goes onto any site it will not load and let him go onto anything at all. We did not have this issue with my last provider at all but its only an issue with his pc and laptop, all phones and tablets work fine. I rang sky but was told they hadnt a clue and i was to forget wifi then try again which i did but it still did not do anything at all, also tried connecting directly through cable which also didnt do anything. Its very frustrating and annoying for my son. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
@ShelbyB18 Might be worth checking what broadband sheild setting is set to, as default it is set to PG and changing this should enable things to work.

Re: Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
@ShelbyB18 I have never seen anything like that. Your son can't go on any website at all. Have you tried another browser to see if fixes the issue?

Re: Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
Hi.
I also have the same issue. The 'WiFi' is all connected, lights green etc. running the check on the app sayings all the connections are good, however phones/ipad's/laptop will not load things. Even if it says the WiFi is connected.
I rang Sky and they advised me to reset the hub as it will put you on a new channel which may be less busy.
I have been with Sky twice and this has happened both times. I only recently switched back hoping they had improved services and I have moved villages so the signal may be better, but obviously not.
My best solution is to move provider if you can and you cannot persist with constantly turning it on/off on devices and resetting the hub.

Re: Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
@Highlinder i will try that thanks but its just all very strange as only the two things not working and was perfectly good before with last provider.
@Tessa2 I agree with you if I cant sort the issue then i will have to change again as whats the point of having pc that he cant use.
Thanks so much for advice x

Re: Connected to broadband but cant go onto sites
@ShelbyB18 could be an IP address issue check thst your son's devices are not trying to use an IP address which the hub does not recognise. Sky uses a range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254 which is ptobably different from your last ISP.
Either set the devices to get settings from the gateway of 192.168.0.1 or choose an address from that range and reserve it in the hub.
