Connected to Wifi but No Internet

Frustrated! Ok, so I have full fibre and a Sky SR203 router. Then off the Sky Q box, I have an off the shelf netowrk port hub, which then runs to two sky boosters, and one other SR203 (this has been given a static IP and DHCP disabled, so acting as a booster only). Now since installing such a complex set up, all android devices seem to have issues - they connect to wifi but no internet. What is frustrating me is all non android devices (So apple, TV's, and PC's) work absolutely fine, but android tablets or phones are all failing. On the odd occassion they seem to get access very brieftly, but then fail. Ideally I would be running all the boosters off the primary router, but due to property layout this isn't possible. My only current thought is the other disabled SR203 is causing some sort of issue. It has the same SSID, maybe I could change this or disconnect altogether. Any help appreciated.

Using a second Sky router as a booster will cause you issues, they are not designed for that and the specific Airties mesh system installed on them will almost always cause oddities like you are seeing now. Would make much more sense to get a 3rd booster and connect it to your network switch instead of the hub.

Additionally not sure how you aquired a second SR203 as they are loaned from Sky so have to be returned at end of contract or if you get a replacement sent to you. If you bought it online then that is against T&Cs and Sky reserve the right to brick the router at any time.

Re: Connected to Wifi but No Internet

@jamesn123 - thanks for your reply. Very insightful so appreciated. The reason I installed the second Sr203 was I needed network ports to hang some other stuff off (velux window and heating hubs). I'll disconnect the second Sr203 and see if it resolves. Any guidance on compatible boosters with network ports would be appreciated. Thanks again

Well to be properly compatible with your Sky system you'd need a Sky booster. Otherwise you could look at deploying a 3rd party mesh system, an example would be the TP-Link deco system.

As for extra ethernet ports this can be achieved by buying a simple unmanaged switch, they can be bought for around £10-20 from any major retailer. Example here
