Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
Hi, we have been having this problem since the 9th of july where our devices think theyvare connected, but wont load any web pages exept google, and youtube. As soon as we try to open a link out of google e.g. sky.com the page wont load.
Oddly sky q apps works fine so the internet is there and if i run fast.com that shows my speed. Running the network troubleshoot comes up with "ethernet doesn't have a valid ip configuration" have spoken to sky support twice, did all the things they asked, nothing resolved. They sent a new hub which worked absolutly fine for 3 days and then stopped working with the same issues as the first. Network team supposedly looked their end sent me a text to say it was fixed. But not working still, tried to call again and get endless machine loop and cannot talk to a person again. Does not matter if wired or not, all devuces in the house have issues. Sometimes it says time out or trouble finding the site when trying again, then temporarily connects only to then be super slow and then stop again.
Any other thoughts?

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
Hi @Lokig
Just to clarify, does this happen on both WiFi and ethernet?

@Lokig What hub are you using from sky? run the www.whatismyipaddress.com to see what it returns to you!

Do you have another example of it happening on a WiFi connected device? E.g. What happens on your phone when you notice the issue on your PC?

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
From what you have described it sounds like a DNS issue, have you tried rebooting the router?

Ipv4 not detected.
Ipv6 is 2a02:c7c :14fd:5e00:2da7:5bd:6cc9:d7d6
Amazed that site loaded to show something. I have checked the ipv4 its set to automatic, have tried google and vloudflare and back to automatic and no good

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
Yep, first thing tried. And the sky support made me do it quiet a few times along with a lot of other bits

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
@Lokig Suggest that you factory reset that sky hub, with NO iPv4 being issued you have a dead duck for a hub! If you have sky Max then hold the wps button in 30 seconds watch for the light reseting and restarting, black SR203 reset button back off the hub same time and similar watch lights change front off the hub!

No IPV4 address will be what's causing your issues, not all websites support IPV6.

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
We may have a solution! Seems the extender was interfering, managed to talk to another support person, and they mentioned only 2 things they vould see on the network. Sky q and something else which was a non sky extender. It had been fine for a year but turning that off seems to of sorted it. Will see if its a permanent solution.

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
@Lokig Anything is possible, what extender do you have, never known a extender to cause a router to not be able to get a wan IP, but if you have tried to set up a device that is a router and not done it correctly then yes you can mess it up easily and not see it for a time!

Re: Connected but web pages wont load ethernet does not have a valid ip configuration
Thanks for updating us @Lokig
Some mesh systems (like TP-Link Deco) can run in router mode, where they take over network functions like DNS resolution — rather than just extending your existing Wi-Fi, I wonder if it was something like that.
