Connect draytek vigor 2862 or vigor 130 to FTTC

Hi

sky claim my broadband is Ultrafast 160 (SO G.fast) whatever that means but either way its FTTC.

I want to move away from my sky hub and use either my draytek vigor 2862 or vigor 130 modem but however many times I try and follow the instructions here or on draytek's site. It does not seem to work.

I am using this as my main guide

https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/sky-fibre-setup-guide?highlight=WyJza3kiXQ==#draytek-router...

so trying dhcp option 61 and e.g. 7c4ca5123456@skydsl|abcd1234

then the Check that the MPoA / Static or Dynamic IP tab is set to Enable

Select Obtain IP Address automatically

and then

If it’s a VDSL connection that's connected directly (not using a VDSL2 modem), go to [WAN] > [General Setup] > [WAN1]:

  • Set the VLAN Tag Insertion setting to Enable
  • Set the Tag Value to 101

or I try the 130 https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-130-bridge

Either way I never get the DSL to connect.
