Connect 3rd Party router to Sky Broadband
Hello,
I currently have Sky Broadband Superfast (with a NTE5C socket) and would like to connect it to a Zyxel NR5101 router.
I have had a look at other users issues trying to connect and seem to be getting very different responses.
I have enabled the below:
But struggling to understand what info the router needs to connect the broadband
I have seen some forums mention about using option 61 with IAID with the first 8 digits of the MAC address and DUID with "7c4ca5123456" but this does not seem to work
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong and if this is the correct way to do it?

Re: Connect 3rd Party router to Sky Broadband
That appears to be a 5g router for a mobile data sim
You would need a combined dsl modem router or a dsl modem plus a seperate router
Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21
If I get it right mark as answered
If I get it wrong humour me
If I say something you like give a thumbs up

Re: Connect 3rd Party router to Sky Broadband
Thanks for the reply.
So to confirm, I would either need a seperate DSL modem to conect the line, then connect to the router?
Or would I need a completely different router that is cable of connecting ADSL/VDSL/FTTC?

Could you firstly post you hub stats to verify your current connection
Ideally a wifi 6 asus rt ax or asus zenwifi model with a seperate modem bridge or , for example the asus dsl ax82u which combines the modem and router in the same box
Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21

Re: Connect 3rd Party router to Sky Broadband
Sorry for the late reply.
So I've changed my router to a Draytek 2865Lac. The line seems to be sycned but looks like I'm missing authentication details.
Can someone let me know what authentication details I need?

Re: Connect 3rd Party router to Sky Broadband
@JackT97 Are you in the UK? as Sky use MER. In which case you need to be using the tab MPoA / Static or Dynamic IP using the settings below:
You also need to populate Option 61 within DHCP Client option as per
My screen has additional WANS as i have a Draytek Vigor 3910, but you should see the DHCP client Option button under WAN --> Internet Access. Make sure you have the correct WAN selected

Please note I only provide help on the main forums and not via PM, PM's are switched off.
