Configuring SKY Q and SKY mini boxes to boost/extend WiFi

Hello,

I have recently switched to SKY broadband but the WiFi signal is weak in a few areas of the home. I have SKY Q and 2 mini boxes which I understand can be setup to boost WiFi. The three boxes are ethernet connected to the broadband router. I can't see where or how to setup both LAN and Wifi on the SKY TV boxes. Any help or suggestions most welcome. Thanks.

When Sky is the ISP the 'hotspot' function of Q boxes is automatic.

I'd suggest a network reset, then setup by WiFi, then connect over ethernet.

Note that this is a 2016-vintage system though, and so nowhere near as good as modern mesh hardware: it's unclear if the boxes actually use ethernet backhaul in that role.

Thanks for your swift reply. I will do as you suggest, disconnect the ethernet cables on the 3 SKY TV boxes and see if their WiFi function can seen and set, and if so, then reconnect the ethernet cables. If this doesn't improve things I guess a simple TP-Link WiFi extender may be the way to go.
