Changing IP of laptop

Morning,

A concerned Dad here.

My 13yr old son has been able to bypass the 'profile' he's assigned to on my sky router, meaning he can continue to use the internet unrestricted.

He appears to do this by changing his MAC address and then his device reconnects to my router as a new (unprofiled) device with a new IP, but keeps the same name.

Does anyone have a similar issue? Or a fix please? The whole reason I got the upgrade was so that I could give both children downtime and control internet access. I'm now unplugging the internet at night, which means this router profile upgrade that I pay for really isn't worth it and I'm unable to stream when the kids are in bed.

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

Excellent: get them signed up for a career in IT ; )

It's preferable to control WiFi by having a separate access point with different credentials for their use, and physically switch that off when desired, keeping the Sky Hub signal with only you being able to log in.
