Change Sky Broadband Hub to Asus Router - plug and play?

Hello all, I'm looking to replace my Sky Broadband Hub with an Asus AX11000 Pro, is it a straight forward plug-and-play with the Asus?

I know next to nothing about networking but ive read different things - either it'll work out the box, or the Asus isn't a modem so I'd need to buy another thing for that, or if need to change something in the ASUS's configuration to get it to work... it's all very confusing!

Can anyone provide any guidance on how I could go about upgrading? Is it straight forward, and would I need more hardware to act as a modem?

Thanks in advance!

@Yohannas

Typically no non-Sky router will just plug in and work: at the very least they have to be configured to present an authentication string which Sky Broadband will recognise.

How do I go about setting that up? I bought a TP-Link TD-W9970 to set up in modem-only mode which I'm planning to plug the Asus AX11000 Pro into, once it arrives tomorrow, but beyond that I have no clue how to configure it unfortunately 😞

@Cliftonsky  I had a look at your post but it's related to a different router (TP-Link one) rather than Asus.
