Certain phone apps wont open now changed to sky broadband

Changed from  NOW to sky broadband and now two work apps on my phone won't open. Rest of apps are fine. Apps will open on other WiFi e.g Costa just not my home one since changed to sky.

Have restarted phone, deleted n reinstalled the two apps and turned broadband shield off. Sky help desk at a loss too

@LW29 If Broadband Shield is off there is no obvious reason for your phone being unable to access certain apps unless there is a setting on the phone affecting access in your home.To test that try accessingthe problem apps on another device as if thst doesnt work it sounds like a configuration issue at Sky's end and the Broadband Shield is not turning off despite looking as if it is. 

There is a possiblecworkround which is editing the phone's network settings for the Sky connection. Change the settings to manual and edit the DNS entry to include Google's public DNS service which is at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 this should bypass Sky's filters.

How do I access DNS? I can only find DMZ and it asks for an IP address .? 🤷‍♀️

Sky promised to phone back tonight to sort and as usual and expected they haven't 😱

The DNS setting which @Chrisee refers to is the one on the phone, not the Sky Hub.

It's manual DNS configuration in the phone network settings.  Nothing to do with the Hub: Sky Hubs don't permit manual DNS change in their own configuration.

Won't let me attach a screen shot but options are

• Off
• Automatic
• Private DNS Provider Host name 

Which do I choose? And what is the host name of the dns provider it also asks for?

As @Chrisee suggests, Google DNS is 8.8.8.8

There are several others, including 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9

It would only let me write Google (no numbers I.e. 8.8.8.8) or it wouldn't save .

I tried that and said can't connect 😱
