Cant install or update Android Apps through Playstore and Youtube not working - Birmingham Area

Just adding my voice to this. Cannock area.

Using VPN or cloudflares DNS 1.1.1.1 fixes it for a bit. But since YouTube is cracking down on VPNs I can't watch the highlight of the F1 qualifying. 

Seems to work for everything else. 

Use your mobile data to grab proton VPN it's free doesn't need sign up and it's a one button press activation. 

Hopefully someone fixes this asap. 

And DOESN'T try to upsell me to sky WiFi max!!

It's an extra expense that won't resolve the issue so yeah.

Considering we just upgraded to 500mb it's another expense I can't justify. And shouldn't have to either. 

Everything was working fine before the 26th June.

This isn't a hardware issue is a routing issue on sky's servers.

@SilverRook That could be a distinct possibility or just a stupid remote sat system DNS Server having a seriously bad day/day's/week's!

And yes 26th is about the right time scale sequence, NO sky equipment on but my Asus spotted it!

I have the same issues since yesterday, sounds horrible but glad someone else is having the same issues,  as I thought I was going mad and have tried everything to solve it i.e reset router , phone.

Seems to be streaming issue as I cannot download any apps, or watch Paramount. YouTube takes ages to load, huge lag, please fix this issue. It has been going on for a week now.

When accessing YouTube videos wholst connected to wifi there is a significant lag also cannot download andriod apps via Google play store whilst connected to wifi. When wifi is turned off and mobile 5g data is turned on no issues

Same issues here in Birmingham, cannot update apps on my Samsung Fold 5 and videos won't load on YouTube over WiFi. Turn off WiFi and everything works fine, testing my broadband speed when connected to WiFi and I'm downloading at 145mbps so got a good speed. Hoping Sky gets this fixed asap.

Same issues on both my phone, wife's phone and daughter tablet.

Play store on both phones - not downloading and getting stuck.

Youtube on daughters tablet, just not loading videos and consistent buffering..

This isn't a Sky Max full fibre broadband issue and it isn't fixed. I can't access Google Play on any device connected to wifi but if I switch to 5G on EE it's fine. I've been running a mobile hotspot to do upgrades etc. I am not on FF Broadband and don't have the Sky Max router. I'm pretty sure this is a Sky DNS issue and my Chromebook diagnostics has confirmed it.

Agreed...I can't even get full max ...50mb is the best I can get...it's a routing DNS issue..

Can a mod "un answer" this. 

I feel that is this is "answered" it's going to get overlooked and swept under the carpet.

I spent a couple of days troubleshooting this issue, tested on family WiFi etc all to the same conclusion of it not working.

I contacted Sky about this issue yesterday and explained that it wasn't my hardware etc as I had already reset my router and all that stuff, and I asked for it to be escalated to their network team as it was clearly a fault somewhere on their network. 

I've just finally managed to update play store apps and YouTube is buffering as normal again. 

Hopefully it is now resolved for everyone else in the country. If not, contact them and ask for it to be escalated by the network team.

It is marked as the answer so people joining this discussion can see that Sky are aware of the issue as the fact it has been raised on here and more people are posting each days shows that this is an issue and that Sky will be investigating as they did previously when the same occurred around the start of the year after multiple posts were made about it on here it was subsequently fixed.

I can confirm that I have full access back here in Walsall both Google Play Store and no buffering  in YouTube at the moment. Thank you to all who also escalated/reported the fault.
