Same here as well in West Midlands area. Have called Sky and they were pretty useless honestly. May try a VPN to have a look if that works.

YouTube streaming on iOS is still not working properly as of last night. The app won’t play videos, but it sometimes works if you use the YouTube website instead.

Like others mentioned, switching to mobile data or using a VPN seems to bypass the issue for now.

Can't download or update apps from Google on the playstore, also YouTube shorts won't play. Through 5g no issues but as soon as I connect to my hub(new service as of the 27/06) neither work.

Spent hours trying to find a solution after sky checked broadband and WiFi thoroughly and found no issues. 

Seems to work using a vpn so after I updated Google app, now works. 

Seems to be a Google issue. 

Check this by trying YouTube using a browser. If it works, it's a Google issue.

You tube won't load up at all if it does its very slow .when I turn on mobile data it works fine

Not exactly. This seems to be ISP level filtering or a DNS issue that is likely affecting certain domains or endpoints used more by the app than the website. Still, as others have pointed out, it looks like something Sky needs to sort.

Hi all,

This issue seems to have returned for the Leicestershire area. Is anyone else struggling? 

I have tried restarting my phone, restarting the router, clearing caches and deleting apps but nothing seems to download using the Sky wifi currenlty. There are also extremely slow speeds on the youtube app.

@Mintypenguin Hey, I've got the same problem, and I'm in Leicestershire too. I'm on the phone with Sky right now, telling them about it. You should probably do the same so they know it's not just a random thing. [content removed]

Exact same problem, YouTube app not working, play store apps won't install or update. Works ok if using a vpn. This is becoming very common now. Leicestershire area also

Im having this issue now, Essex area. Can't install anything from the play store over WiFi and the YouTube app is horrible and constant buffering / stopping of videos/shorts.

@Bob171 @DanFoyee please do call sky too, Ive been told to wait upto 72 hours for a response after calling today. However, when I raised this a few days ago, I was essentially told there hasn't been others affected. I think the more this is reported the easier it may become for Sky to identify the cause of the issue

I just got off the phone to them now. Tried to explain it was a specific routing or connectivity issue between Sky and Google but the guy tried to run me through the usual steps and didnt really understand. Hopefully admin here can escalate this so they're aware and implement the previous fix. Frustrating issue. As a temporary workaround for me, youtube works fine in the phones browser, so its very specific to the app.
