Recently we have gone to full fibre and now our outside remote security camera won't connect to our WiFi, we bought a new camera as the one that was working with the other was onky a 2.something and the messages we got said we needed a 5.somthing so we got one and now it still doesn't work as in not connecting to wifi

Hi thanks for replying, we did have the black router and our 2. something security camera did connect to that, but now we have the white router which the old camera didn't connect to we bought the 5 . something ( as you might have gathered I'm not fully informed as my husband was sorting it and he's at work ) the camera is literally on the other side of our back door with the router inside on the other ....

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@nicky63 external security cameras are often a pain to connect as wifi signals dont pass through external walls the well. Take your phine to the location ofvtheccamera and check the wifi connection it has at tgecsame location. You can improve coverage by having a wifi extender or similar near a window over looking the cameras location. Sky never guarantee wifi coversge outside your home.
However one point the issues with 2 & 5 is likely to be refferring to the 2 WiFi bands the.2.4GHz and 5GHz. Your Sky hub uses both but some devices cannot connect to a dual band SSID there are a few worktounds for this but which one depends on wherher you have a black orcwhite Sky hub. If younpost which you have forum members can talk you though these.
