Cannot connect to my NAS drive since i moved to Sky broadband.
I moved to Dky broadband a few weeks ago and now I cannot access my Western Digital Linkstation NAS drive. My Sonos system accesses all my music on this drive and now we cannot play any music. Everything worked fine with my previous providers. It has been suggested on other forums that there is a firewall blocking the access (maybe in Macafee) but I cannot find any settings to alter. In the past I have had to reset my Sonos access to my network drive but this time I cannot access the drive from my phone or from my laptop. Can anybody help?

@PhilD3 have you tried a restart of the NAS drive, if I read the details right you should be able to log into the drive still vai a cloud account? this should allow a restart.

McAfee through Sky is/was a legacy download of an antivirus suite for installation on computers, which the vast majority of Broadband customers won't have: it hasn't been offered for several years.

Re: Cannot connect to my NAS drive since i moved to Sky broadband.
I have tried a restart but it did not resolve the issue. When I try to use Buffalo Web access from my phone I am still using WiFi through the router so I am not bypassing the thing that is blocking access. It will be the same if I use Web access from another location. Sonos creates its own mesh network but still accesses the NAS drive through the router???

Re: Cannot connect to my NAS drive since i moved to Sky broadband.
I read the McAfee suggestion on another forum. I have not installed McAfee but it makes sense that there may be some sort of firewall setting in the router that needs to be told to allow access to the NAS drive. I cannot find anything that looks like it could provide access to change such a setting if it exists.

Re: Cannot connect to my NAS drive since i moved to Sky broadband.
@PhilD3 if you want external devices (i.e. not devices on your home network) to access your drive you will need to open and forward the specific firewall ports. The firewall by default stops external devices intiating contact with your devices while allowing your devices to connect to external servers and get replies. The supplier of the software should tell you which ports they use.
These are the instructions for the black hub 4 see here. The new white hub uses the My Sky app to set up the rule

Re: Cannot connect to my NAS drive since i moved to Sky broadband.
Did you maybe set a static IP address on the NAS? If so, it could be in a different range to the router of your old ISP.
For example BT use the range 192.168.1.xxx whereas Sky use 192.168.0.xxx.
Can you see the NAS listed as a connected device on the router?

I had the same problem whit a different NAS and I fixed it by changing the Ethernet speed from Giga to normal in the Sky router.
Hope it helps
